Each of these additional musicians allowed the song to take on an entirely new life. A first-time opportunity, the band got to play their songs with musicians outside of the group. Brett took on mixing for this project and was a right-hand mand to Molster as they set up arrangements for each of the three very distinctive sounding songs. Setting up shop, the Barbershop to be exact, the band teamed up with friend Brett Romones. A unique opportunity as he played both the role of producer and musician, we can’t give this man enough credit. The first time he produces a collection of songs for the band from the beginning to end. This EP holds close to the heart for all of them but is an exceptionally special project for Dallas. We saw this as an opportunity to rearrange our songs in totally different styles and to tap into some different musical influences than usual.” Grayscale from Live From The Barber Shop Studio Dallas Molester guitarist and producer for the EP explains, “We were drawn to everything from jazz, classic rock, hip-hop and anything in between. I want people to able to listen this this record when they’re 16 or 50 and still find something that makes them say, ‘Fuck, I remember when this happened to me.’ We tried to make a timeless record for us in 2019.The band was lucky enough to grow up surrounded by an extensive musical influence. We spilled a lot into it and took the gloves off.

“We want to display the whole spectrum of emotions. “There’s a lot of very pure shit straight from the heart on this album,” Walsh leaves off. At the top of 2019, the guys traded Philadelphia for Austin, TX, holing up in the Machine Shop alongside producer MACHINE (Armor For Sleep, As It Is, Lamb of God). Under a heavy influence of everything from Third Eye Blind to The 1975 and Jon Bellion as well as rotating through modern hip-hop and R&B, Grayscale dove headfirst into writing ‘Nella Vita’. We’re a rock band, but we want people to dance, laugh, cry, and have fun.” Life isn’t just one thing neither is music. “The songs are about what you go through in life and real experiences like love, sex, being a teenager, addiction, pain, joy, grief, death, and everything. “The music provokes a lot of visuals, because it’s very conversational, real, and romantic,” Walsh explains. ‘Nella Vita’ as a whole chronicles an extremely personal journey for Walsh, yet it’s one that explores relatable ups and downs in life. “It is about regret and realizing in the moment that what kept you apart was dumb and wasn’t worth the exile of one another.” “This is a song about saying goodbye to someone after years of silence,” says vocalist Collin Walsh. The follow-up to life-affirming single ‘In Violet’ and the bittersweet ‘Painkiller Weather’, ‘Baby Blue’ takes on further weighty subject material. Philly quintet Grayscale will release their second album ‘Nella Vita’ on 06 September via Fearless Records and the band have now unveiled a third song from the collection.
